On May 24, 2024, ZENZISS General Manager Ma gathered with chairmen, general managers and senior executives of several enterprises in Yangzhou to share a themed lecture on “Lean Production & Digitalization in Practice”.
Drawing on years of experience in lean production and factory digitalization, Mr. Ma structured the sharing around three points:
2. Interpreting smart manufacturing & the digital factory.
Attendees raised questions based on their own lean practices and the hot topic of digital transformation:
1. Can digitalization truly improve enterprise efficiency?
2. What is the relationship between lean management and digitalization?
3. How should high-mix low-volume enterprises approach lean digitalization?
4. Which enterprises are suited for digitalization — what are the prerequisites?
Addressing these questions with lean methods, Mr. Ma analyzed operations from two dimensions — value stream and information flow — introducing smart manufacturing and the digital factory concept, helping attendees structure a digital-factory model, and finally landing on the essence of digital transformation: starting from strategy, using advanced digital technology to optimize or create new business models — customer-centric, data-driven — breaking traditional boundaries to raise competitiveness and create new value.
